By its permanence, heft and earthly presence, pottery is an essential material for maintaining a cozy home. Class projects entail skills of varying degrees of difficulty, some handbuilding, assembly and alteration off the wheel. Let's slow the heck down knowing the cold nights are shortening and it's warm inside–and make pots congenial to that effort. Projects chosen to promote warmth, in body and mind, while absorbing silent moments or convivial gatherings: squared baking dishes, mugs, candlesticks, matchstick holders and strikers, upright spoon holders, planters and garlic keeps (because garlic needs shelter too).
