Suze Lindsay & Kurt Anderson, 10 - 11am
Built in Rhythm

Structure becomes a language of movement in this demonstration with Suze Lindsay and Kurt Anderson. Both artists engage deeply with form, using pattern, repetition, and construction techniques to create work that feels both grounded and in motion. Lindsay’s wheel-thrown and altered forms emphasize balance and flow, while Anderson’s surfaces and structures explore rhythm through layering and mark. Together, they will demonstrate how form and surface evolve in tandem, each informing the other at every stage of making. Join them to see how a sensitivity to rhythm can shape not just decoration, but the very architecture of a piece.

Steven Young Lee & Erica Iman, 11:30am - 12:30pm
Vessels of Meaning

Clay and concept unite in this compelling demonstration by Steven Young Lee and Erica Iman. Lee reinterprets historical ceramics through a contemporary lens, interrupting traditional silhouettes to examine cultural narrative and inherited form. Iman works intuitively with raw earth materials, mimicking nature's processes to create forms that evoke timelessness and inner landscape. Though their conceptual starting points differ, both artists transform clay into something that reaches beyond object: one rooting us in cultural history, the other in the physical and meditative rhythms of the natural world.

Doug Peltzman & Sara Alfieri, 1 - 2pm
Drawn to the Surface

For Doug Peltzman and Sara Alfieri, drawing is at the heart of the ceramic experience. Their work transforms everyday functional forms into lively, image-rich objects that invite closer inspection. Peltzman’s loose, energetic linework animates his surfaces with humor and immediacy, while Alfieri’s detailed and thoughtful compositions bring a sense of narrative presence to her pots. In this demonstration, both artists will share how drawing and mark-making evolve alongside form, and how they approach composition on curved surfaces. Whether playful or contemplative, discover how drawing can activate even the most familiar object.

Andrew McIntyre & Sandra Daulton Shaughnessy, 2:30 - 3:30pm
Rhythm & Structure

Pattern, repetition, and form come together in this engaging demonstration by Andrew McIntyre and Sandra Daulton Shaughnessy. Both artists explore the dynamic relationship between structure and surface, creating work where pattern is not simply applied, but integral to the form itself. McIntyre’s precise constructions emphasize rhythm through geometry and repetition, while Daulton Shaughnessy builds richly layered surfaces that move across and respond to the contours of her forms. Watch as they demonstrate how timing, process, and decision-making shape these interactions. This session offers insight into how pattern can guide both the eye and the making process.
