Join us in the studios for a full day of demonstrations, conversation, and inspiration with six exceptional ceramic artists. This pass includes admission to all Saturday demonstrations on August 29, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Lindsay Rogers & Samuel Johnson, 10 - 11am

Where does function end and sculpture begin? Join Lindsay Rogers and Samuel Johnson as they explore the expressive potential of clay through forms that push beyond traditional boundaries. Rogers builds dynamic, gestural vessels that feel as though they’re caught mid-movement, while Johnson’s work embraces distortion and spontaneity to create objects that are as emotive as they are functional. Watch as both artists demonstrate how process becomes visible on the surface—through marks, alterations, and intuitive decisions that remain embedded in the finished piece. This demonstration offers a compelling look at how energy, touch, and timing can transform familiar forms into something far more animated and alive.

KyoungHwa Oh & Marissa Childers, 11:30am - 12:30pm
Stories in the Surface

Step into a world where every detail carries meaning. KyoungHwa Oh and Marissa Childers create richly narrative ceramics that center identity, memory, and lived experience. Oh’s intricately constructed forms and surfaces weave together personal and cultural histories, while Childers brings a delicate sensitivity to figuration, using pattern and texture to evoke intimacy and care. In this demonstration, both artists will share how they build and develop imagery that goes beyond decoration—becoming an essential part of the form itself. Whether through carved detail, layered surface, or subtle gesture, discover how storytelling can be embedded directly into the clay.

Celia Feldberg & Taylor Mezo, 1 - 2pm

Clay becomes canvas in this image-driven exploration of ceramics with Celia Feldberg and Taylor Mezo. Both artists approach the surface as a site for bold visual storytelling, translating drawing, illustration, and graphic sensibilities into three-dimensional form. Feldberg’s narrative scenes unfold through layered mark-making and sgraffito, while Mezo’s work embraces graphic clarity and composition to create striking, image-forward pieces. Watch as they demonstrate how imagery is planned, transferred, and developed on the surface of clay, and how these decisions interact with form. This session is perfect for anyone interested in expanding their approach to surface as a storytelling tool.
