Join Philadelphia based artist Celia Feldberg for a hands-on workshop exploring sgraffito and underglaze painting techniques. Celia will guide students through her process of planning, thinking about characters and narratives, transferring drawings, carving, and using underglaze to achieve a watercolor-like effect. The workshop will emphasize both technical skills, such as moisture and timing impact mark marking, and emotional aspects, such as feeling at ease with drawing on clay. Wherever you are in your artistic journey, this workshop offers a playful and accessible approach to explore surface design that can be used to create illustrations, abstract designs, or make patterns on functional or sculptural forms.
